In School Support

I have the flexibilty to support your child within their school environment, providing your child's school can accommodate this.  I hold an enhanced DBS check, which is required for all adults that work within the education sector.

I will work on a 1:1 basis with your child for the hours that you and your child's school have chosen.  I can provide my own tailored teaching plans, or I am more than happy to follow a teaching plan formulated by your child's teacher.  This often works better, as the learning links with the rest of the class more smoothly.

Not all schools welcome external tutors, so please check and have the discussion. first.

How Does it Work?

It's a little bit like a music teacher, I go in to schools for an agreed amount of time (usually 1-2 hours two or three days per week) but instead of teaching an instrument, I provide support with a key subject, this could be English, phonics, maths. 

Occasionally, I may spend 1 hour in school supporting a child with sensory needs, through play therapy.  I have done this when supporting a range of children with social and emotional issues.

Whatever support you require, it is always tailored to the child and is designed to fit in with the school day and provide a practical solution to enabling children to remain in mainstream  school..
